Activity Description:
The human-animal bond is stronger than ever, and pet owners are always seeking to provide the best care for their companions. The areas of pain management and end-of-life care for animals have grown tremendously, and optimal care takes collaboration between pet owners and veterinary professionals. This presentation will introduce common philosophies and guidelines for care.

Learning Objectives for Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians:
1. Review therapeutic options for palliative and hospice care for veterinary patients
2. Discuss treatment philosophies and the importance of end-of-life care in regard to the human-animal bond
3. Identify common challenges with veterinary patients

This is a knowledge-based CE activity and is targeted to pharmacists and technicians.

Dr. Jade Tenberg completed her DVM at Louisiana State University and spent the first five years of her career in Las Vegas as a general practice veterinarian. She pursued additional training in veterinary acupuncture at the Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine and went on to be an international guest speaker on palliative and end-of-life care.
