Facility and Engineering Controls Using USP <800> Guidelines

This presentation walks through the facility and engineering controls necessary for achieving a USP 800 compliant compounding room. There will be visual illustrations and case studies to help the pharmacy owner understand the importance for everyone on the project team (contractors, architects, engineers,etc) to be on the same page for the project goal.

Learning Objectives for Pharmacists and Technicians:
1. Understand how to achieve negative pressure.
2. Recognize that the General Contractor, and/or HVAC contractor, and/or architects/engineers must understand the goals of USP compliant design criteria.
3. Understand how correct engineering and safe workflow are interdependent for hazardous drug handling compliance.
